Nikhil Cheerharan

Nikhil Cheerharan is an Associate Attorney at Ruddy Gregory, PLLC, in the Washington, D.C. office. Prior to Joining Ruddy Gregory, Mr. Cheerharan was an Associate Attorney for a Regional Firm in Baltimore, Maryland where his practice involved employment, labor, and workers’ compensation litigation. Prior to the Baltimore firm, and following law school, Mr. Cheerharan was an Associate Attorney for a Regional Firm in St. Louis, Missouri where his practice focused mostly on litigation in the fields of general liability, product and premise liability, and transportation.  

Mr. Cheerharan attended Washington University in St. Louis School of Law where he served on the Jurisprudence Journal as well as a Student Bar Association Representative. During his last year of law school, Mr. Cheerharan had the privilege and honor to work with Senator Roy Blunt (R-MO) in the United States Senate. There, Mr. Cheerharan had the opportunity to experience first-hand the interplay between various aspects of the federal government and the everyday life of Americans and businesses while also gaining experience and exposure to working on the Rules Committee and helping formulate policy and achieving policy goals. Also, during law school, Mr. Cheerharan had the opportunity to intern with Justice Laura Ripken who is now on the Court of Special Appeals in Maryland, and with a lobbying firm and environmental real estate firm in Annapolis, Maryland. These positions allowed Mr. Cheerharan to develop his interests in the various fields of law and sharpened his legal skills, while also providing him with a well-rounded view of the legal system as a whole.

Prior to law school, Mr. Cheerharan attended the University of Miami (FL) where he majored in Political Science and History with a minor in International Relations. During his time in Miami, Mr. Cheerharan had the opportunity to intern with the State Department of Maryland where he worked under the Deputy Secretary of State as well as the Director of International Affairs for the State of Maryland, and also interned with a National Presidential Campaign in Miami during the 2016 primaries.
